Tra i Red Dot Product Design Awards 2016, resi noti solo qualche ora fa, spuntano i nuovi (e inediti) Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12 S e Lenovo Yoga Book. Ecco le loro immagini (e descrizioni) ufficiali in anteprima.
Red Dot è il prestigioso concorso annuale di design che si svolge a Essen, in Germania: la giuria è composta da 41 affermati professionisti, esperti del settore, che selezionano solo i migliori prodotti fra più di 5.000 candidature provenienti da 50 Paesi. Ed anche quest'anno, tra i Red Dot Product Design Awards 2016, spiccano nomi illustri dell'elettronica di consumo: Acer e Lenovo, quest'ultima con ben 18 premi per il design di alcuni dei suoi dispositivi, 8 in più rispetto all’anno scorso. E tra questi, a sorpresa, ci sono anche due ibridi inediti.
Acer è stata premiata per il nuovo concept dell'Aspire Switch Alpha 12, mentre Lenovo ha avuto un riconoscimento per il suo Yoga Book. Sono entrambi dispositivi ibridi 2-in-1, il primo dotato di una tastiera dock mentre l'altro capace di ruotare a 360° come tutti i dispositivi Yoga-style. Il database dei Red Dot 2016 ci fornisce una prima descrizione dei due (molto interessante in alcune sue parti) e qualche immagine in anteprima. Insomma, è la prima volta che si parla di questi due dispositivi con informazioni "semi-ufficiali".
Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12 S (ma il nome potrebbe cambiare quando arriverà sul mercato) è un ibrido detachable sottile e leggero dotato di una tastiera dock e di una kickstand a forma di U sul retro. Il telaio dovrebbe essere costruito in alluminio anodizzato opaco, molto elegante e resistente, ed integrare un display da 12 pollici, processori Intel Skylake (Intel Core M e Core i3/i5/i7) e Windows 10. Il concept è fanless, ma è interessante notare l'adozione di un sistema di dissipazione "ibrido", che l'azienda chiama "cardiac thermal liquid cooling system".
Ecco qui sotto la descrizione integrale:
"Amazingly slim and slight. With super thin keyboard, the Aspire Alpha 12 S features a thin and light body to create a great mobile experience while on the go. The U frame Kick-stand, and small chamfer are nicely-crafted for creating a nimble and elegant image. The top cover is made by aluminum and finished in elegant anodized hairline brush for giving eyes a great concerto, and silky tactile feedback. It is graceful, irreplaceable, and unforgettable. The U frame Kick-stand has great rigidity to support the machine, though it is thin. With anodized and sandblasting finish, its not only visually delicate, but reduces wobble issue from a general touch force due to its sturdy hinge system. The highly adjustable keyboard can be adjusted to various degrees, runs the entire width of the system, and is stiff enough that it will stay where you put it and hardly moves at all. The fanless design with hidden antenna is immersed into the A cover for a fluent visual perception that brings a great visual harmony. Also, the Cardiac thermal liquid cooling system is a no pump liquid cooling system which presents a remarkable cooling performance under an absolutely quiet status."
Passando al Lenovo Yoga Book, già adocchiato nei giorni scorsi alle prime certificazioni, è un convertibile ultrasottile (solo 9.6 mm), il cui schermo ruota di 360° trasformando il dispositivo tablet, notebook, stand e tent. Dall'immagine, sembra che la cerniera sia la stessa adottata nello Yoga 900.
Ecco cosa ci dice la descrizione dei Red Dot 2016:
"YOGA Book is a creative device that belongs to YOGA family. It can be used as a tablet and notebook, which will be adaptable to different scenarios. Thanks to its innovative 3 axis hinge, YOGA Book allows the user to flip around 360 degrees and features a total thickness of 9.6 mm. It results in a very slim, flexible and portable device that will fit the needs of demanding users. The smart floating keyboard appears when needed, and disappears when the user wants to write , sketch with the intellipen, mixing traditional ink with digital technology. To support heavy journey, long load of work without any plug, the device can stand on its battery for more than 15 hours and be charged in a very short time, allowing the user to focus on its work and mind not on his remaining time."
Sappiamo già che lo Yoga Book di Lenovo sarà equipaggiato con processori Intel Atom x5-Z8500 o x5-Z8550 (Cherry Trail), schermo IPS da 10.1" con risoluzione di 1920 x 1200 pixel, 2GB di memoria RAM, 32GB di storage eMMC, WiFi, Bluetooth e GPS e soprattutto Android 5.1 Lollipop. Dovrebbe essere alimentato da una batteria a due celle da 8500mAh per un'autonomia di 15 ore.
Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12 S sarà sicuramente protagonista del consueto evento annuale di aprile a New York mentre non abbiamo informazioni circa il lancio ufficiale dello Yoga Book.
